Sports Report – WSMRL Week 11

West Somerset Miniature Rifle League

Minehead Rifle Club and Williton Rifle Club have now completed 11 rounds of the 18 round competition. Williton A team travelled to the Minehead Range to take on Minehead C. Williton ran out convincing winners in both the gun score and handicap legs with Graham Scott turning in an impressive 99 out of a possible 100. Minehead A team had a bye and scored 390 out of 400 which is the highest score of any team to date. Adam Booker returned 99 with the other three members all contributing 97 each. As a result Minehead A team won both of their legs. Williton B team welcomed Minehead B team to their range. Williton won both the gun score and handicap legs with Andy Phillips contributing 97 and Paul Bowden 96. For the Minehead B team Grahame Jones achieved a career best 96.

At the end of Round 11 Minehead A and Williton A are joint leaders in the gun score competition, although Minehead A have scored 21 more points overall. Williton B leads the Handicap Competition as a result of their victory over Minehead B.
