HEALTH & SAFETY
MINEHEAD TARGET SHOOTING CLUB TAKES HEALTH & SAFETY VERY SERIOUSLY AND OPERATES UNDER A HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY THAT IS UNDER CONSTANT REVIEW. A COPY OF THE POLICY CAN BE VIEWED AT THE CLUB ON REQUEST. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL PERSONS ATTENDING THE CLUB AND ITS PREMISES TO MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE OF THE CLUB RANGE SAFETY RULES.
IN ADDITION:
All persons attending the Club who will be engaging in shooting activities will be given a full briefing of the basic safety rules prior to shooting
Probationary club members will be given full instruction regarding range, rifle and ammunition safety at the start of their probationary period and will receive further follow up instruction as necessary.
All shooters attending Minehead Target Shooting Club must follow Club rules and safety procedures and must always follow range officer commands.
Minehead Target Shooting Club are bound by Home Office Regulations and will always have a fully trained range officer in attendance on the range when shooting is taking place.
A fully detailed attendance and shooting register is kept to record, for regulation purposes, all shooting activity on the range.
Club officials, members, volunteers, parents, carers & visitors must understand their individual roles when attending the Club, the responsibilities they are accountable for and what is expected of them.
Minehead Target Shooting Club cannot accept responsibility for personal loss or damage to members or visitors’ equipment or vehicles while on the premises.
Minehead Target Shooting Club have provision in place for the safeguarding and welfare of its members including the NSRA child protection policy for any under-18s or vulnerable persons.
Minehead Target Shooting Club has the appropriate safety certificates and insurances in place to cover its sporting activities through its affiliation to the sport & governing body, the NSRA, and the Somerset County governing body, the SSBSA.
