West Somerset Miniature Rifle League

Week 13 of the West Somerset Miniature Rifle League saw everyone at Minehead for the first leg of the Carnarvon Cup.

This Competition is shot over a distance of 50 metres in two legs with the top 8 shooters from each Club in each leg forming the team.

Some 10 members of Williton made the journey to the Minehead Range where nine from Minehead were there to meet them.

Minehead won the first leg with a score of 740 compared to 730 achieved by Williton.

For Minehead, Bill Smyth scored an excellent 97 ably supported by Mark Parfrey and Grahame Jones with 94 each.

For Williton John Grellier scored 97, supported by Erica Jones with 95 and Eric Jones with 94.

The second leg will be in two weeks time and Williton will be looking to overturn the deficit of ten points.
