West Somerset Miniature Rifle League

2018/19 Week 3

It was Week 3 of the West Somerset Miniature Rifle League between the Minehead and Williton Rifle Clubs.
Everyone assembled at Minehead to compete in the first leg of the Clegg Cup shot over a distance of 50 metres.
Williton brought 11 members with them, some of whom had first shot over this distance only a couple of days before.
Minehead had 10 members present, so it made for a very busy session. The competition was for the best 8 scores for each team to count and Minehead narrowly won by 745 to 740 points.
The ladies from both teams lead the way with Pippa Sullivan from Minehead and Erica Jones from Williton both scoring 97 and Emily Plumbley contributing an excellent 94 for Williton.
Elliot Morren a junior from Minehead continued his current good form with 96 supported by the not so junior Mark Parfrey also with 96.
The second round of the Clegg Cup will be shot in two weeks so there is all still to play for.
