Sports Report – WSMRL Week 15

West Somerset Miniature Rifle League

Week 15 of the West Somerset Miniature Rifle League saw the second leg of the Carnarvan Cup between Minehead and Williton. The competition was shot over 50 metres with the best eight to count from each Club. In the first leg Williton were unable to raise eight people but this time they had nine so the contest was on. Minehead scored 758 and Williton 736. Over the two legs Minehead scored 1513 and Williton 1357 so the cup went to Minehead. On the night Mark Parfrey lead the way for Minehead with an excellent 98, closely supported by Ryan Graddon, Adam Booker and Pippa Sullivan all scoring 96. The top scorer for Williton was John Grellier with 95.

At the end of Round 15 Minehead A are clear leaders in the gun score competition as is Williton B in the Handicap Competition. With only three rounds to go there is still all to play for and leadership in both competitions could still change.
