West Somerset Miniature Rifle League

Week 7 of the West Somerset Miniature Rifle League between the Minehead and Williton Rifle Clubs saw all four teams shooting on their home ranges.
Williton A team scored an excellent 384 out of a possible 400 beating the Williton B team by 10 points.
However, Williton B took the honours in the Handicap Competition by exceeding their declared average by 6 points whereas the A team were one point below theirs.
With the best four shooters to count, Williton A had all of their four scoring 96 points. This was a very creditable performance by John Grellier, Erica Jones, Andy Phillips and Alan Coomber.
Williton B team had scores of 96 from Eric Jones and 94 from the junior shooter Chris Newsome.
Meanwhile Minehead A team narrowly beat Minehead B team by 5 points, scoring 379 points out of a maximum of 400.
Similarly Minehead B won the Handicap Competition by exceeding their average by 5 points whereas Minehead A team were 4 points below theirs.
So after 7 rounds Williton A leads the gun score competition and Williton B the Handicap one.
Erica Jones of Williton leads the Ladies Competition and Elliot Morren of Minehead the Junior Competition, John Grellier of Williton is currently the top shooter.
Next week sees both B teams travelling to take on the respective home A teams.
